Kooper has been such a blessing to us since coming into our lives 8 weeks ago. He is the sweetest little thing and LOVES his mommy! (which I do not mind ONE BIT!!) He looks so much like his sister but their personalities are complete opposite.
The first 7 weeks were so hard and I kind of wondered if we would make it. We were pretty much up all night...every 30-60 min he would want to eat. This really wore us out and we knew we had to do something. We finally called the doctor and they first suggested gas drops. He has some really bad gas issues and those seemed to help him through out the night, but we were still having issues just getting him to go to sleep. Finally after many calls to the Dr. she finally told us to put him cereal 2x daily in a bottle for him. This helped immediately! He is such a big guy that the ceriel fills him up just enough to tie him over a little longer. We were finally able to put him down and sleep for a few hours. My Dr hated putting him cereal so young but it worked perfect so we have stuck with it.
Differences Between Tenlee and Kooper So Far
Swing-Tenlee hated it and Kooper lives in his
Lamb Chair-Tenlee lived in it and Kooper hates it
Tenlee was content to eat and then be put right to bed, she never had to be cuddled. Kooper has to be held until he is completely sound asleep and LOVES to be cuddled.
Tenlee was a sound sleeper and Kooper is a really light sleeper
Tenlee-Sleeping great right away and was never fussy
Kooper-Had 4 bad weeks of sleep and was fussy almost to 8 weeks pretty much night and day
Around 7.5 weeks he started doing so much better during the day and would still cry at night but it was a tolerable cry and we figured out that if we let him cry it out for about 10-15 minutes he would put himself to sleep. He really seems like a different baby. He is way more content and just happy all around. He also started sleeping 5-6 hrs at night at 7 weeks which has been amazing for both of us.
Even though he has been a much more difficult baby, he is just the absolute love my life and I wouldn't trade him for anything. He is a mommy's boy which I love...Tenlee would go to anyone and be content. A lot of the times he just wants mommy, which is fine by me!!!
He weighs 14.4 lbs, definitely a big boy. But he literally eats ALL THE TIME!!! Besides being on cereal we have tried formula a few times to fill him up all the way. He doesn't like the formula but sometimes it puts him to sleep. We tried swaddling him at night and that helped for a few weeks but then we also figured out that he has to be on his belly when sleeping. It is the only way he will sleep at night. I was a little apprehensive at first, but it was too the point of him getting up every 30-60 minutes that we knew we had to try something different.
