Wind Dixie School...our first half of our school year

We have had another great first part of our school year. She is learning so much, and reading has been my favorite thing to watch her learn! Even though we don't have actually tests for her to do each week I create my own spelling tests and math tests and she is so funny about taking her tests. She gets extremely nervous and has to get every one right or she gets to upset. I love that she wants to do her very best even for me, her plain old mom! She loves learning about science as well, and asks a lot of questions. One thing we have done this year is use our Fridays as our "home-ec" class. We bake, do our music lessons, crafts and we work on sewing projects together. We enjoy our easy Fridays and she loves not having a ton of actual school work to do.

I honestly love homeschooling, but it has also been incredibly hard this year with the amount of sessions I had this this year. Pretty much this past end of summer/fall and early winter consisted of us waking up and doing school in the morning, then we would eat and put Tucker down for his nap and then I would head upstairs and literally edit until Tyler would get home from work. I would come down just enough to get supper fixed and then clean it up and then I would head back upstairs to finish editing and Tyler would put the kids to bed. He pretty much did all of the laundry and dishes for a few months. I felt like I had no time with kiddos and school just happened.

So Tyler and I have both decided that if we continue doing this next year, something will have to change in order to have things work a little smoother. I really do love this journey that we have started and there are some days that I dread getting out of bed and beginning the day knowing we have to squeeze school in on top of all the daily things we have to get done. But I have never regretted it and I absolutely love seeing our daughter read on her own and learn new things and know that I had a part of that! And we both love how we are able to incorporate Christ in her schooling every day!

This is one of my very favorite pictures of her!!! I absolutely love

Our Dream Trip to Disney!

This is a very late post! I actually forgot to do a post on this and when our computer crashed and we lost our pictures I had thought I had saved them to my external drive...but I didn't. I am so glad I loaded them up to Shutter fly and they were all still there. So now I am putting them up so I know for sure I have them saved somewhere else:)

This trip was a dream come true!!! I knew at some point we would definitely be taking Tenlee to Disney, but it is SO expensive. And we knew we couldn't take all 3, plus at this point Tenlee was at a point where she would remember and the boys would never remember it. We talked back and forth about going for about a year. We finally decided now was the time to go and in a few years we would do something special with our boys that they could remember! We got a Disney credit card and put bigger things on it and earned points to use towards our tickets. We also got a nice gift card for just signing up for the card. We were able to take our points and with the gift card we didn't have to pay very much for our tickets and flights. Praise the Lord!!!! We invited Tyler's parents to go with us. It was so great having someone else to travel with and I think they enjoyed watching their only granddaughter visit her dream place!

This is the night that I told her we were going to Disney!!
She was so excited when our tickets arrived!
This was her first time flying and she was so excited!
She was sound asleep by the time we landed in Florida.
Waiting on our shuttle bus to take us to our breakfast
with Disney characters..she was a little excited!
 Animal Kingdom
We got to see a Finding Nemo musical and it was amazing!!!
Getting ready to ride our first big ride..she was a little nervous!
Tenlee is not afraid of very much. But on this trip we
found one thing that she is terrified of...Roller-coasters!!
This picture makes me laugh so hard...to say she didn't like it is an understatement.
The Tree of Life was so pretty!
 Safari time
She kept talking about Pocahontas had invited her to go on a canoe ride with her and have a picnic.
She had so much fun collecting and trading her pins!
She was so tired and was just passed out cold on our ride back to the hotel!
Her face was so much fun to watch. She just took everything in and was just so excited!!
Dreams do come true!!!
This was her favorite ride..the tea cups and we of course had to ride in the pink one:)
She was the most excited to meet Elena!!
This was her face before she met every princess...in complete awe!
Meeting mommy's favorite princess!
Terrified yet again...we really thought she would like this one!
Story time with Belle
 Parade
Perfect ending to our perfect trip!! We all loved the pretty fireworks!
And once again...she is out cold!
We had all morning and part of our early afternoon to hang out so we enjoyed our pretty view from our hotel and then Tenlee wanted to go swimming before we left the hotel.
 Disney Springs
Our first time eating at Rainforest CafĂ©!! So neat!
Headed back home!

This was such a wonderful trip! We made so many sweet memories with not only Tenlee but also with my in-laws! I cannot wait till our boys are old enough to do a special trip with just the two of them!
