Christmas 2017

This year I was trying to be a little more excited. I struggle a lot during the winter, like a lot! (the
kiddos think the word "snow" is a bad word) So this year I had really been praying about having a better attitude towards Christmas. The older I get the more I would like to just skip the months of October-March...and everything holiday that comes in those months. But this year I was feeling better and was actually "slightly" excited about Christmas and getting a lot of snow to make you feel like your have to play clean up to the inside and give me more time with the kids. But unfortunately this year one of my worries came true...we were sick over Christmas. We caught the nasty plague the week before and then the boys came down with it the day of Christmas. So there was no late night fun, no waking mommy and daddy up before sunrise...because all of my little ones were running fevers and so very tired. But in the end everybody had a good Christmas and we are praying next year we will all be a little more healthy:)

Pics in their matching pjs! (Oh how I love these three!!)
I had to snap one of my pretty girl:)
Our December field trip for co op was going to Columbia City and watching their live nativity at the courthouse square. We had so much fun and was able to go see Santa before, eat out with our friends and then drive around and look at Christmas lights. After the live nativity we went to our friends house and watched Elf with the kids for the first time!
Tucker was once again scared to death of Santa so he invited me to sit on his lap so we could get all 3 in the picture:) (For those of you who know me, I hate hugging people let alone sitting on some strangers lap...what we do for our kids!)
Watching Elf with their friends for the first time!
We drove to Warsaw in our jammies and drank hot cocoa and the kids loved looking at all of the lights!
Instead of a gingerbread house this year, we made a gingerbread barn!
Their new ornaments that they get each year

Setting up our Christmas tree
Sending their letters out to Santa! Tenlee asked for a mini camera, a pink bow and arrow and a table set for her dolls. Koop asked for a "big" gun, a drone with plugs (cord to plug in) and a robot.
Instead of doing Elf on the Shelf we started doing the Shepherds Treasure last year
and the kids loved it! So this year Sam returned to us and the kids had so much fun finding him each day.
Phares Christmas-Christmas Eve
As you can see from the picture...Kooper was over it by this point and very upset that we made him put his new jammies on.
Our traditional Christmas Eve picture with Santa's cookies and milk
All ready!
This year they each got their regular 3 presents from Santa. But this year we added a few gifts from us to them. They love camping with their grandparents and they like to make forts and tents inside during the winter. So we got them each a kids tent, a compass and a small lantern. They have been great so far and help keep them busy since it has been so cold outside. We also got them a game...their favorite thing right now is to play games after supper and baths at night.
Christmas morning!!!  We were blessed with a couple of hours of them feeling somewhat decent to enjoy our morning together.
I love this sweet family of mine!

This was by far my favorite moment of this Christmas season...my girl reading the birth of Jesus all by herself!

Troyer Christmas
My mom is still carrying on the tradition of making us figure out whose wrapping paper is which before we can open up any gift. (We make fun of her, but secretly we all LOVE it)
My poor boys were both running fevers by the time we finished opening up gifts and so tired and ready to go home to take a nap.
