South Carolina was the best vacation I have ever taken!! I went to Hawaii with my cousin after I graduated and although that is hard to beat...family vacations are now my favorite:) Sweetest memories in the world! We knew we both needed to get away and spend some time with the kids and just put work and life on hold for a week. Renovating the house last spring and summer was super draining and then with school and sessions a break was what our family needed. We went to Georgia for our honeymoon and really loved it so we talked about going back there..but we love doing different things so I suggest one of the Carolina states. My aunt and uncle went to Charleston with their family for my cousins wedding and we knew they had really enjoyed it. Tyler and I both really enjoy history so I suggested going there since we knew it was definitely historical and we knew it was a nice place from what my Aunt had all told us. Tyler and I pretty much set a budget and then he lets me plan and take control of our trips...which I enjoy because I love planning them. Ty justs wants to know when and where and he is good:)
She ran into my room the morning we were leaving and asked me how many
more hours!! She had been counting down the months, weeks, days and now hours!
All packed...just waiting on Daddy to get home from work!
Finally on our way!!!
Rest stop and this picture was too cute to not capture!!
We made it!!! The kids did so well...we split up the trip and my
dad picked a spot in West Virginia that was about half way there.
Tenlee's second time seeing the ocean and my boys first time!
Tenlee found her first whole sand dollar as soon as we got
there and this made Daddy's day because he collects them!
We got up early because the weather was so perfect and headed about 10 minutes
away to the historic downtown part of Charleston...most beautiful place EVER!!
My sweet cobblestone roads...oh how I love thee!!!
"Charleston Battery"
"Rainbow Row "
"Pineapple Fountain"
We were able to walk a few blocks away and see the "Slave Mart". Tenlee was introduced to Slavery this school so this was amazing for her to be able to see and ask us questions.
Headed back to Sullivan's Island for another afternoon in the sun and sand
Down at this corner we were able to see a few dolphins which the kids LOVED!
They loved looking at all the jellyfish that had washed up
Dad took Koop "head surfing"..we found out he LOVES the ocean!!
We headed back to our hotel after spending the afternoon at the beach and ate
some supper and then went back downtown for more exploring and ice-cream.
